The briefing was for a jazz-flavoured hip hop act, so where else to look but New Orleans. There we found the one and only Alfred Banks. His song “Homecoming”, written together with producer CZA, was chosen for it’s spicy brass theme and allround good vibes. Were the samples clean? Hmmm… maybe not 100%, so we worked with brass arranger Hans-Christian Stephan (Meute) to create an even better part for the track. Everyone liked it. Phew!

The cinematic and very robotic sound design was also recorded on set and enhanced with some extra bits and pieces for that larger than life feeling. In the end, the sound design became part of the music and the music part of the sound design. Isn’t that nice. We also took care of the final mix and Alfred was featured in the title of the commercial, together with a download link for the new version of Homecoming, because if you ain’t heard of Banks, yeah you late dawg!
